I've seen it happen!  Work hard for 50+ years and then die with a boatload of money before having using it and exploiting life to its fullest!

I've done it!  Perhaps you've done it!  And millions of people around the world have done it!  We've ignored our body's physical warning signs and before long, some of us are laid-up in bed at home or in a hospital of an indefinite amount of time.
